The models listed on this page reflect the latest residential single coil ECU units.
The ECU Desuperheater is connected to a water heater and an air conditioner, heat pump, or refrigeration compressor. A small pump circulates “cold” water from the bottom of the water heater tank through the heat exchanger within the ECU where it interacts with the hot refrigerant gas from the compressor via a heat exchanger. The resulting heated potable water is then pumped back to the water heater or in many commercial situations a pre-heater storage tank. The commercial unit comes in sizes to match your existing AC units or refrigeration units. Reclaiming waste heat from high compressor discharge temperatures is a proven principle of energy recycling that produces abundant hot water safely and economically and as a by-product will increase the SEER of the AC it is connected to.

“My solar hot water panel was destroyed in the Hurricanes of 2004. I inquired into replacement solar panels and was stunned by the 10 year payback period. I knew about the ECU and put one on my home hoping for the best. I am happy to report that I turn my hot water breaker off all spring, summer, and early fall and have plenty or piping hot water for my family or 4, plus the German Sheppard……”

“As a past owner of an AC Installation and Service Company, I know the benefits of using the ECU to make my AC unit more efficient as well as providing “free” hot water. I have a heat pump so it provides hot water summer and winter. This technology has been around since the 80’s and is proven, tried and true……”

“I was doing a remodel on my house on the beach, my contractor suggested putting the ECU unit on two on my AC systems, since I have two hot water heaters. He installed time clocks that shut the power to my water heaters except 6 to 7 in the morning and 7 to 8 in the evening. Must be working great because we never run out of hot water……”

“I have a 24 hour Laundromat that is air conditioned. With the driers running, it seems the AC unit never shuts off. I talked to my AC guy, nothing he could do about the run time, but he suggested putting the ac unit into double duty by providing “free hot water”. We installed an ECU on my rooftop AC unit, a second pre-storage water heater to hold all the AC generated hot water and my gas bill has gone done substantially. Every time I check the pre-storage unit it is above 140 degrees. Great idea this ECU device……”
